Synopsis

This documentary represents a critical examination of Australia's approach to supporting children with autism spectrum disorder during their most formative years. "Left Behind" is a social impact documentary examining the critical importance of early intervention services for children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Following recent NDIS funding cuts that have forced integrated therapy centres to close, this film investigates whether Australia's policy shift toward mainstream care truly serves our most vulnerable children and their families.

Synopsis

"3 BAD MONTHS" follows three Australian families navigating an impossible reality: despite working full-time jobs, they cannot afford housing in today's market. Through intimate access, we witness parents dropping children at school from emergency accommodation, teachers quietly providing support to students living in cars, and families maintaining dignity and hope while society's safety net fails them. The film challenges every assumption about homelessness, revealing that in 2025 Australia, having a job is no guarantee of having a home. With over 1,600 people becoming homeless each month and 76,000 children seeking homelessness services annually, this crisis has moved far beyond the margins of society. Many people in Australia don’t realise they are only 3 bad months away from homelessness.
